Brief History Of UNICAL
University of Calabar (UNICAL) is located in Calabar, Cross River State Nigeria. The university is federally owned and it is one of the second oldest universities in Nigeria. The University of Calabar was a campus of the University of Nigeria until 1975. The present Vice Chancellor is Dr. Florence B. Obi (Professor). The post of the DVC (Academic) is held by Dr. Angela Oyo Ita (Professor), while Dr. Grace Eno Nta (Professor) is the current DVC (Administration). The University of Calabar was one of the foremost Nigerian Universities to automate students’ registration processes through the College Portal and has taken a step further to automate its alumni relations which includes an online transcript request and processing, being the first of its kind in the country.
UNICAL Admission Requirments
Below are the things you need before you can stand a chance to gain admission in UNICAL;
- UNICAL Must be your First Choice of Institution.
- A minimum of 5 credits in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE) Ordinary Level Credits in a maximum of 2 sittings.
- You must choose the correct JAMB subject combination for your course.
- Candidates must score at least 180 in the just concluded JAMB UTME examination to be offered admission into the University of Calabar.
- You Must Participate in UNICAL POST UTME/SCREENING to be considered for admission if any for the year.
- Candidates must have reached the age of 16.
