Brief History Of Western Delta University

Western Delta University was established by a group of Urhobo Scholars under the auspices of the Urhobo Advancement Foundation (UAF) who recognized the necessity for a privately financed university in the wetlands of Delta State, Nigeria. WDU has provided access to a diverse array of academic opportunities since its inception in 2007.
The university cultivates a community of scholars and students who are dedicated to the advancement of society through the pursuit of research and professional practice. It is also motivated by a fervent aspiration to preserve the most prestigious standards of philanthropy, professionalism, and public service. WDU was duly accredited as a private university by the National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria in 2007. It is situated in Oghara, Delta State, Nigeria.
We think that sustainable development necessitates quality education. Therefore, the University’s objective is to establish itself as a leading institution that provides significant opportunities for the most talented scholars to achieve success.
The University was granted a license to establish in May 2007, and it was able to commence operations in January 2008 as a result of an aggressive infrastructural development. The first batch of students, consisting of 149 individuals, matriculated into 21 degree programs that were divided between two Colleges: the College of Natural and Applied Sciences and the College of Social and Management Sciences. This occurred in April 2008. The School of Postgraduate Studies and the new College of Applied Health Sciences are now being housed at our takeoff campus in Oghara.

   • Alternatively, possess other Advanced Level Qualifications qualifying for Direct Entry.
3. UTME Score:

Postgraduate Admissions Process

Prospective students applying to postgraduate programs are not required to apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The Admissions Office oversees all admissions, ensuring a seamless process for prospective students.

Deferment Policy

Conditions for Deferment: Students seeking to defer their admission must submit a written notice to the school. Deferment will be granted if certain conditions stipulated by management are met. Each deferment request is carefully reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Withdrawal Notice

To facilitate efficient enrollment management, students are required to provide the Admissions Office with at least one month’s written notice of withdrawal. Failure to provide the stipulated notice will result in the school withholding references or transcripts for the student. WDU reserves the right to withdraw a registered student if there is a material breach of the code of conduct.

Important Note: Admission Status

Undergraduate Admissions are approved by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Only candidates who are fully approved by JAMB are eligible for admission into undergraduate programs at Western Delta University.

The university offers accommodation facilities and a library to its students. Western Delta University school fees range from between N300,000 – N400,000, it has a diverse student diversity, and we are unaware of the student and staff population but considering its founding date we believe the university would be moderately populated. The university offers a bachelor’s degree program spanning across Sciences, Arts, Management, and Social Sciences.
