Veritas University is a private university, located in Abuja. It was founded in March 2002 by the Catholic Church in Nigeria. The Institution received its provisional operation license in 2007 from the National Universities Commission and commenced admission of students in October 2008, at its take-off campus in Obehie, Abia State, Nigeria.
Veritas University Abuja (VUA), also known as the Catholic University of Nigeria, was founded by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria through a resolution given at its March 2002 meeting in Abuja. The initiative was conceived by the collective desire of the attending Bishops for a University that would provide high-quality tertiary education according to the tradition of the Catholic Church.
The Institution received its provisional operation license in 2007 from the National Universities Commission and commenced admission of students in October 2008 at its take-off campus in Obehie, Abia State, Nigeria. In 2014, it moved to its permanent site with its campus now located in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Nigeria.

Veritas University Application Process
- Candidates who made Veritas University, Abuja their first or second choice in their current UTME application form and have scored a minimum of:
- 200 and above (for Nursing and Pharmacy)
- 220 and above (for Law)
- 170 and above for every other program in the last UTME
- All other candidates interested in studying at Veritas University, even if Veritas University is not their choice in JAMB.
- Direct entry and Transfer Candidates wishing to transfer from other Universities to Veritas University, Abuja.
Transfer Candidates
Admissions requirements for Transfer candidates:
- A transfer fee of 200,000 naira for students who are considered for admission after the screening.
- A CGPA of 1.5 for other courses except the Health sciences needs 3.5 and above.
This is to inform the general public that the post-UTME screening exercise for all prospective candidates seeking admission into Veritas University Abuja for the 2024/2025 academic session will take place from 26th August 2024 to 30th August 2024. All applicants not screened during this period will be considered during the late entry screening exercise, which commences immediately after the main screening exercise and runs up until the date of the University’s matriculation.
All prospective candidates are required to come with the following documents:
- A printout of the summary page of the online application form,
- JAMB result slip,
- O-level result (WAEC/NECO),
- Evidence of payment of ₦10,000,
- Two recent passport photographs
- A writing notebook and a pen.
